Featuring more than 120 worldwide films and stage performances, the festival welcomes iconic actress Isabella Rossellini, from filmed-in-Wilm cult classic "Blue Velvet," who will perform her new one-woman show during the festival. With Broadway shows like Anastasia the Musical, Chicago, Annie, The Book of Mormon and more headed to the stage soon, The Wilson Center is a must for Great White Way fans. Enjoy a magical evening at historic Thalian Hall with illusionist David Caserta Oct. 27 or see The Nutcracker Ballet come to life Dec. 2-3. Opt for unique experiences like live Variety Shows at Sorrow Drowner, a tiki bar designed by a former Disney Imagineer.
USCT Park Opening Day
After unveiling Boundless last November, Cameron Art Museum is preparing to open USCT Park Nov. 13. Located on the grounds of the historic Battle of Forks Road, the park honors the United States Colored Troops who defeated the Confederate troops. The park was designed to offer visitors a quiet space for reflection, healing and learning about the USCT Troops contribution to the war. Celebrate opening day with a full day of activities including live music, USCT reenactors, storytelling and more.

'TIS (ALMOST) THE SEASON
 
Set a reminder for all the upcoming holiday activities coming to Wilmington and Beaches. Tickets for Enchanted Airlie, Airlie Gardens annual holiday light spectacular, go on sale Nov. 2, and are sure to sell out. Wander through a winter waterland at the North Carolina Aquarium's Cape Fear Festival of the Trees beginning Nov. 21. The holiday festival is included with aquarium admission, so reserve your admission online in advance. The NC Holiday Flotilla returns to Wrightsville Beach Nov. 26 with its signature festival, lighted boat parade and fireworks show. Tickets are on sale now for favorite seasonal shows at Thalian Hall and The Wilson Center or book a cruise along the Intracoastal to see docks decked out in their holiday best.
