Step Back in History 
Commemorate the Civil War's largest amphibious battle at Fort Fisher June of 1868 on June 11. This free, family-friendly event will feature living history demonstrations, reenactments and artillery firings, including the site's 32-pound cannon. For those looking to learn more about the Fort's historical significance, special guided tours are available at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a nominal fee. Learn about camp cooking, rationing, medical procedures, "sick call" and the grounding of the blockade runner Modern Greece.
