Trade Winter Blues for our Coastal Blues

Bring your binoculars and search for migrating bird species at Carolina Beach State Park's Fourth Wednesday Bird Walk Feb. 23. Reach your wellness goals with a walk or jog around The Loop, a 2.5-mile scenic trail through Wrightsville Beach or enjoy a hike through Fort Fisher State Recreation Area in Kure Beach.

Salute to Black History

Cameron Art Museum’s newest permanent public sculpture, Boundless, commemorates the African American Civil War experience. Artist Stephen Hayes drew inspiration for this installation from descendants of United States Color Troops. Also on display inside the museum through March 20 is Hayes’ Voices of Future’s Past, which explores the legacy of growing up black in America. Discover more of the city’s African American history and culture with guided and self-guided tours offered by local historians.
